Grants & Sponsorship
The Department of Indigenous Affairs (DIA) provides funding assistance for the following programs:
- PALS Awards - Grants of $500 are available to all schools to enter the PALS Schools Reconciliation Awards annually. The PALS awards encourages all students within their school communities to develop projects and activities that promote and advance reconciliation. Funding for PALS projects in 2007 is now closed, however you can still enter the PALS Awards for an opportunity to win fabulous art works by some of the state's well known Indigenous artists. - Looking after Country grants - The Land Branch facilitates the Looking after Country grants. These grants are subject to funding. Information will be provided on this website in relation to the timing for 2007/2008 applications for Looking after Country grants.
Applications will only be accepted during the advertised periods.
- Patrol grants - Patrols provide strategies at the community level to deal with and respond to a range of social problems experienced in Aboriginal communities and to reduce contact between Inidgenous people and the criminal justice system. Patrols are operated by the community and are supported by DIA and other agencies.
